In His Presence cover

Leave the Choice to Him

Track 3 on In His Presence, 2026

Words from “The Weaver,” a poem often shared by Corrie ten Boom; music by Kevin Ball with Suno. Produced with Suno.

The story

This song comes from one of my favorite poems, The Weaver, which Corrie ten Boom often shared. I come back to it when life feels especially heavy.

From where we stand, we see the underside of the tapestry: knots, loose ends, dark threads that don't seem to belong. He sees the pattern from above. The dark threads are as needful as the gold and silver.

Setting it to music was my way of practicing what it asks of me...to trust Him with the colors I would never have chosen myself.

Lyrics

My life is but a weaving
Between my God and me.
I cannot choose the colors
He weaveth steadily.
Oft’ times He weaveth sorrow;
And I in foolish pride
Forget He sees the upper
And I the underside.
Not ’til the loom is silent
And the shuttles cease to fly
Will God unroll the canvas
And reveal the reason why.
The dark threads are as needful
In the weaver’s skillful hand
As the threads of gold and silver
In the pattern He has planned
He knows, He loves, He cares;
Nothing this truth can dim.
He gives the very best to those
Who leave the choice to Him.
